The Challenge: Double Agents — Episode 7 Preview
What To Look For
- I Tried There-ason With You
My favorite part about Challengers making short-sighted moves is not the impact it has in the moment. Sure, having two of the strongest girls in the house go at it for a Gold Skull will reverberate through the rest of the game. But no that’s not what I’m thinking about. What interests me is the bus ride home.
I’ve long been obsessed with the long bus rides these people take to and from different elimination arenas/daily challenge locations. Some of our most memorable moments have happened on said bus rides(Banana-cam catching Cara and Tom playing Rock-Paper-Scissors, “NOW IT’S A NECKLACE”, etc.).
I imagine we missed a lot of juicy tete-a-tete’s the night Fessy sent Nelson home on that bus ride back to the house. This time around it’s hard to tell exactly how that ride home went. If Ashley would have stayed, I’m sure there would have been verbal javelins flying around all over. But Kam’s probably a little too classy for all that. Who knows? Maybe the Challenge Gods will even let us see it this time!
Probably not, as there’s louder Josh-centric happenings that apparently we critically need to see for fear of possibly catching chlamydia otherwise. Regardless of what the Challenge Gods allow us, Theresa stepped in it last week. On the bright side, she’s not going to have any trouble having an opportunity to get her Golden Ticket. But with all the rest of the women in the house galvanized behind a common enemy, her match-up most likely won’t be a favorable one. How this misstep boomerangs back, at the end of the day (shout out Nany), will be up to her.
- Tom Brady, Chris Tamburello, and The Inevitability of Greatness
On Sunday, Tom Brady won the NFC Championship Game and in turn will now appear in his 10th Super Bowl. There’s been 55 total Super Bowls, which means that Tom Brady has now appeared in 18% of them.
Excluding this current season, there have been 35 Finals ran on The Challenge. CT has appeared in 8 of them. That works out to 22%
If you gave all of the other teams in the NFL the option to just keep Tom Brady out of the playoffs all together, it would set the record for fastest time thirty-one separate entities to agreed on something.
Last week was the first chink in the Hawk and Fuzzy Bunny armor, as they labored through a mini-final daily challenge. The rest of the guys should be working in concert to keep CT as far away from an elimination as they can. It’s an opportunity to keep one of the best to ever wear the Under Armor from even competing.
- We’ll Do The Tasting Menu Tonight
While we still have yet to even get an amuse bouche of making out, we’ve graciously at least been served entree sized portions of Main Event elimination match-ups.
- Two time champion Ashley vs. much hyped new-comer Natalie.
- A couple heavy hitters in Nelson and Fessy going at in in a Hall Brawl.
- Ashley triumphantly returning only to quickly exit at the hands of Kam. A true main event in every sense of the word.
- Joseph and his mustard…well I guess they all haven’t been bangers.
So with that beind said, what’s next? I’ve thought about it alot, a.k.a. the twenty minutes to took to write this section. So after all that pontificating, here’s are my top five eliminations left I’d love to see…
5) Nany vs. Theresa — Nany and Theresa’s relationship has always been one of those “you two are too alike to ever really be friends, but cannot get away from each other” relationships, so there’s some poetry in play here. Plus last time they went head to head there was legitimate violence in the air.
4) Cory vs. Fessy — Cory has more similarities to a coiled spring than a person right now. This one would have a lot of fury attached to it. A couple of guys with chips on their shoulders.
3) Devin vs. Kyle — But only in a beer drinking contest.
2) Nam vs. Lolo —For obvious reasons.
1) Battle of the Ambers — This one’s more important than you think. As someone with such a normcore name like Brian, I quite often run into scenario’s where there’s more than one of me in a room. And I’m immediately overcome with the sensation that I hate that person. I’m sure the Amber’s feel the same
Thanks for reading! In case you missed it, on Sunday I released my latest updated Power Rankings for the season. And be sure to check back on Thursday where I’ll recap Episode 7 with my Winners & Losers. Happy Challenge watching!!
